Bio

Alanna (Malone) Murray is a communications specialist, writer and sustainable design enthusiast based in New York City. She was previously an editor at GreenSource Magazine and Architectural Record where she earned her LEED Green Associate certification. In this role, Alanna traveled the world to investigate green buildings—from recycled tile manufacturing facilities in Spain to an energy efficient speed ice skating rink outside of Munich to a passively ventilated, bamboo-clad barn in Louisville, Kentucky. Alanna is a native New Yorker but still enjoys exploring the city by foot or by bike. She also loves soccer, pickles, her turtle, and craft beer. As recent homeowners, Alanna and her handy husband have spent the last six months gut renovating their new apartment in Sunnyside, Queens.
